Tragedy As Lawyer Is Found Hanged After Being Arrested For Drink Driving

There has been tragic news that a lawyer who had been arrested for drink driving, decided to take her own life.

32 year old planning lawyer, Karanne Hollow was said to have been “embarrassed” after she crashed her Mercedes Benz into a hedge at 3am.

Sadly, she has been found hanged at her home after she had repeatedly listened to a song that included the lyrics “I don’t want the world to see me, cause I don’t think they would understand.”

Miss Hollow, who shared a house with her boyfriend, went missing from their home whilst he was in the bath.

This was some 6 weeks after her being arrested for drink driving.

An inquest heard the following her police interview, she returned home feeling “anxious and stressed”.

The hearing was also told that the accident happened after she had a row with her boyfriend and buying 2 bottles of wine.

The coroner, Aled Griffiths stated: “She was anxious about a police charge. Her boyfriend Creighton Higginson described her as being a loving and affectionate.

“But since she returned from police interview she was described by him as distant. She was embarrassed about that arrest. After the police interview she was described as in a stressed and anxious state.”

On the night of her death, she had been picked up from work by her boyfriend and they returned to their home.

Miss Hollow ran a bath and as her boyfriend lay in it he heard the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.

The song includes the lyrics: “I don’t want the world to see me, cause I don’t think they would understand.”

A short time later he heard the same music coming from the garage and on entering he found Miss Hollow hanging.

Mr Griffiths told the inquest: “He released the ligature and performed CPR on her before calling the emergency services and continuing to perform CPR until the paramedics arrived.”

The inquest also heard that when paramedics attended the managed to regain her pulse but she pater dies in hospital.

On the night of her death she sent a text to her family simply saying: “I love you”.

Miss Hollow also sent another text to her twin sister with the words: “Iris, Goo Goo Dolls”.

In returning a verdict of suicide, Mr Griffiths stated: “I am satisfied that she carried out the act that ended her life. I hope Karanne is now at peace.”

Our thoughts are with Miss Hollow’s family and friends.
